Within minutes of Woody looking at our disgusting backyard, he had an amazing design plan. He created a “wow” backyard for us that is now the favorite room of our home (once the rain stops). On this particular job, there was no design plan. What I did was paint out with marking paint what I proposed to do, showed videos and pictures of what I was thinking about, and came up with a budget including square footage of lawn, patios, and seat wall, along with an itemized plant list. Their estimate included soil quantities, fixing irrigation, stepping stones along with the sq. footage and the plant list.
That was enough for them. It was very nice to actually install one of my creations again. I really don’t have time to come up with landscape designs any more. Our job is landscape construction.

If they want a actual design on paper we work with a few excellant landscape designers.
