Landscape Industry Certified Landscapers Construct Distinctive Landscaping

Why worry if the landscaper you choose is Landscape Industry Certified? It is very important to you the Home owner. What the certification means is that those who choose to go through the testing and pass the tests, are indeed qualified to install at least portions of your landscape project. At Woody’s Custom Landscaping, Inc. we have two who are Landscape Industry Certified. They have passed all segments including softscape, hardscape and irrigation. The certification from PLANET is a national certification process. Would you want just any one to construct your landscaping. As a side note, 75% of all my employees are ICPI certified which is a national certification process for paver installation. You can feel confident that our employees know and install you paver projects the correct way. I also have about 75% of all my employees certified with NCMA which is another national certification for retaining wall construction.

Home And Garden Show At The Expo 2010

Putting up the display booth with Christine and Carolyn of Gregg & Ellis Landscape Design this year was a blast. We got lunch almost every day and the differrent kind of work we did was indeed fun. We put together a 3′ high planter box installed with 2 types of tiles and large squares of polished black granite. The planter boxes were planted with 4 large clumping Jackmontii Birch, bulbs and varigated foliage and lots of white Tulips and white Hyacinths. The birch were up lighted with 4 large low voltage up lights. The water feature was basically a rectangle with polished black granite with a tile cap. The inside of the feature has a swirling effect with cut flagstone and white sand as the bottom. We do have a very large art piece, two stone benches and a stone table. The show runs 4-24 to 4-28 Weds. through Sunday at the Expo in Portland Oregon.

Come and say hi to Christine and Carolyn of Gregg & Ellis Landscape Design.

Paver Pathways From Here To There

Paver pathways serve a clean way to get from a starting point to a destination. In this case I think you will agree, that the end destination was well worth the stroll.

All pathways should go somewhere or at least go by points of interest. The best way to get peoples attention is to have curves in the pathway. This allows you to show hints of what might be interesting as you are walking.

Pathways don’t need to be made of pavers. They can be stepping stones, brick, gravel or just plain bark or soil. Since I live on five acres in the woods, I have many pathways. Some are paver pathways, some flagstone stepping stones, some are soil and some are cedar chip paths, I even have a area of concrete 3by4 pieces I used for the main entrance into the woods. Most of the pathways at my home take you somewhere. All of my paths seem to also run in a circular pattern, taking you back eventually to your starting point.
A pathway is fun and lends interest to your landscaping.
Let our landscape industry certified employees take you on a pathway to a enjoyable, fun and sustainable landscape.

Before and After Landscaping

I don’t think there are more than a handful of mental deviates who like landscaping in the mud. The video in this blog shows what can happen even with wet weather and mud. With some planning and hard work it can be done . Landscape contractors work in mud, sleet, rain and sometimes just miserable conditions. It is a reality that the landscaping job must get done with even more expertise, effort and stamina when working in wet conditions. As you will see we constructed a lovely paver patio, a environmental friendly irrigation system with MP Rotator heads, sustainable native planting, stone steps, and solved lots of drainage issues, all in mud and rain storms. Whether it’s hail, rain, mud or light snow, Woody’s Custom Landscaping can make it happen with his landscape industry certified employees.

Pond Construction Portland Oregon

Pond construction has been a forte of Woody’s Custom Landscaping for many years. We won our first grand award for one of our ponds through the Washington Association of Professionals in 1996.

Each pond we construct is designed to be a unique and independent water feature. We pay careful consideration to balance and scale on each and every waterfeature project we build.
No two should look alike. Yes they may have some simular features, but we do not install what I call “clone” water features or ponds. We feel each and every client has different ideas of what their feature may look like.
Distinction award 2008
Bubblers are really the only types of water features that may look simular to one another. Most of our clients don’t want the water to show. This means you have to fill up with cobbles. Drilled columns do tend to look alike. Having a unique bubbler is difficult but not impossible.
All our ponds and water features are warranted to be functional, in scale and of course non leaking.
Serving Vancouver WA and Portland OR for all our outdoor living needs.
